Grace Connelly
Active Kids Alumni · Division I Track & Field Athlete

Grace Connelly is a full-circle example of the power of early movement. One of the original Active Kids (BOKS) participants, Grace grew up surrounded by a love of play and sport, guided in part by her mom, an original BOKS trainer and former Division I runner at the University of Connecticut. That foundation fueled Grace’s own running journey, leading her to compete at the Division I level at Stanford University, where she recorded personal-best performances in the 5,000 meters while representing one of the top collegiate programs in the country. Her story reflects how early access to movement and strong role models can shape lifelong confidence and achievement.
Quote from Grace: “One of my former teammates told me something that has stuck with me for years — we don’t have to run, we get to run. I sometimes forget this as I’m squeezing in a morning run before work, but constantly take a step back to remind myself what a blessing it is to run and move my body every single day.”

After joining Vanderbilt as a walk-on, he became a key defensive contributor and earned the SEC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor—becoming the first in program history—while leading the Commodores in tackles and sacks during his breakout seasons.
