Active Kids & Minds Safeguarding Policy
(Child Protection & Participant Safety Policy)

1. Policy Statement
   Active Kids & Minds (AK&M) is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive environments where all children and youth can participate in physical activity programs free from harm, abuse, or exploitation.We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, be respected, and participate in programs that promote wellbeing, confidence, and belonging.

   Safeguarding is embedded across all AK&M programs, including school-based, community, and healthcare partnerships.

2. Scope of Policy
   This policy applies to all staff, contractors, trainers, partner organizations, volunteers, and any adult interacting with children through AK&M programming.
3. Code of Conduct
   All adults must treat children with respect, maintain appropriate boundaries, and avoid any form of abuse, harassment, or inappropriate behavior.
4. Recruitment, Screening & Training
   AK&M promotes safe staffing practices and ensures safeguarding principles are embedded into training and program delivery.
5. Program Safety & Risk Management
   Programs maintain appropriate supervision, safe environments, and align with partner organization safety protocols.
6. Reporting Concerns
   All concerns must be reported immediately to program leads or host organizations, following proper procedures.
7. Digital & Media Safety
   Parental consent is required for media use, and children’s privacy is protected at all times.
8. Inclusion, Equity & Wellbeing
   Programs are inclusive and support all children regardless of background or ability.
9. Partnerships & Compliance
   AK&M aligns with safeguarding policies of partner schools, healthcare organizations, and community groups.
10. Policy Review
    This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure alignment with best practices.
